Action Drug Rehab has worked tirelessly to help addicts get clean and overcome their addictions for years in Santa Clarita.

Action Drug Rehab founder Cary Quashen speaks on the program and their goals on the radio with special guests Brandon, a teen who has been in the program for 4 years now, his father Arturo and Robbie Robinson who works with the Sheriff’s station as a civilian investigator.

Arturo starts off by telling his point of view of Brandon’s story, saying Brandon got caught with drugs at school, and that is how they first heard of Action and were sent to one of their programs, Tide.

Brandon had been using drugs for a year prior to that, as he admitted in meeting with the Tide program.

Arturo mentions a pivotal moment in Brandon’s sobriety during the pandemic when Brandon was spiraling and started drinking and abusing Adderall. During this time, Brandon was also struggling with suicidal ideations as well.

Under 72 hour surveillance, Arturo knew his son needed help and soon.

During a heart breaking moment, Brandon revealed details of a previous time in which he had tried to commit suicide, but he was stopped as he says the rope had broken.

Brandon now tells his story since the first time he smoked weed when he was 14 years old.

The first time Brandon tried weed, he fell in love as he smoked his first blunt after stealing it from his friend’s dad.

Brandon says drugs had been a part of his life for a long time, and he felt that smoking weed was an experience to him and that he never wanted to do drugs, but he did not not want to do drugs.

Once he got his first high, Brandon fell in love, and he said nobody was going to stop him from smoking weed for the rest of his life.

After smoking weed consistently, Brandon says he had stopped for a while because his friend had moved and he did not have enough money to buy weed, but he started again in his junior year as he used his lunch money for weed.

Brandon started his journey into selling weed when he saw he could not ask his parents for lunch money everyday, so instead he started selling the weed he wasn’t going to smoke, making more money for more weed.
