If you or a loved one are dealing with drug or alcohol addiction, finding the right treatment can feel impossible but fortunately for Santa Clarita residents, Action Drug Rehab is ready to help.

Action Drug Rehab has been working within the Santa Clarita community since 1997 to treat drug and alcohol addiction with great success. Founded by nationally recognized addiction expert Cary Quashen, Action Drug Rehab runs a variety of programs that are tailored to every individual’s unique care needs.

In a recent episode of The Action Drug Rehab Hour, host Cary Quashen was joined by mental health advocate Cara Miller. Cara sat down to share her and her family’s journey as they dealt with her husband’s opioid addiction and how that ultimately changed the course of their lives.

Cara moved to Santa Clarita as a teenager, eventually meeting her husband Aaron through mutual friends. Shortly after their marriage, Cara discovered that the man she loved had struggled with various addictions throughout his life.

Aaron’s struggles with addiction really came to a head when he began experiencing back pain from a surgery and was prescribed opioid medication by his doctors.

Aaron quickly began to abuse various opioids as he needed more and more to meet the tolerance he developed. This led him to be banned from the hospital because of how frequently he would try to get more drugs.

After a while Cara and Aaron decided to divorce as Aaron’s addiction became too much to have around the kids. Cara shared, “I didn’t want [the kids] around the drugs and around daddy high all the time.”
